I'm Open Until 5 in the Morning on Weekends

Most pizza places close at midnight. A lot of them close earlier than that. Even the good ones.
East Village Pizza is open until 3AM Sunday through Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, the door stays open until 4:30 in the morning.
That's not an accident. The East Village runs late — it always has — and the corner of 1st Avenue and 9th Street has been serving this neighborhood since 1997. The kitchen doesn't slow down because the clock does. The dough is still 72-hour proofed. The Baker's Pride oven is still running. The pizza at 2AM is made the same way as the pizza at 2PM.
If you're in the East Village after midnight and you want real New York pizza — not reheated, not a leftover slice under a heat lamp — there is one place open.
